Personality:
Matt is a realist, and prefers to stay indoors. Matt prefers to have only a few friends, though he will try to meet new people, but he often gets shy. He can get shy easily, especially around people he doesn't know, and will fiddle with his shirt or start playing a video game-which can come off easily as rude. Around people he knows well, though, he's a very open, honest person. He's the type to show up at your door or wake you up at two in the morning wanting to talk-maybe because he's easily lonely, or because he is having issues telling himself he's wanted. He's well aware that his parents hadn't wanted him, even before he was born. And they hadn't even given him a chance. So sometimes he thinks it's his own fault-he doesn't want to feel that way, though, and he's trying to address those issues. Matt has a hard time letting go. If a friend wants to stop hanging out with him, he'll get very sad and likely will mope around for quite awhile. He might even try to change their mind. So often he keeps his thoughts to himself so no one will get mad at him.

Appearance:
His hair is naturally brown, however he has dyed it red, black, blue, and green in the past. His hair is straight and is damaged from dying it so much, so it's frizzy. His eyes are bright green, though they are usually covered by his goggles. He wears skinny jeans, combat boots, a striped shirt, and a furry vest. Along with that, he has goggles, which are black with orange lenses. Matt has a sharp nose and narrow lips. He tries to look his best every morning-unless he stayed up all night, which isn't uncommon. In that case, he'll just throw on a sweater and loose pants for the day and drag his feet around. His room ends up littered with energy drink cans after pulling these all-nighters. And he'll stress over the bags under his eyes and go to bed early the next night to make up for it. Even if you can't see the bags under his eyes when he's wearing his goggles anyway.

Backstory:
Matt's parents hadn't wanted a child. They nearly got an abortion, but luckily for Matt they didn't. When Mail Jeevas was born there were no feelings of happiness that are normally there when a child is born. Instead, they gave him away to an orphanage. Growing up, Matt struggled to feel wanted, and searched online for people to talk to. He didn't like the other kids at the orphanage. But he found people online he enjoyed talking to, and that helped him a lot. Well, that was until the orphanage couldn't afford for Matt to be on the computers so often. Matt began to hack into the orphanage's computers at night, learning easily how to work the machines. He finally got the bright idea to start hacking for money-surely he could make enough to buy his own laptop secretly, right? So he started hacking small things at first, but it wasn't enough. He began to realize he liked the challlenge of hacking more than the money. One night a caretaker walked in on him while he was transferring money between bank accounts. This was reported to their private lawyer, and the funds were transferred back. Matt hadn't spent any of the money yet. So it wasn't too hard for him to return it-it was easier than taking it had been, anyway. The orphanage was furious with Matt, and saw him as a risk, rather than seeing his need for a challenge. Not wanting to get into any more trouble, the orphanage transferred the boy to another orphanage at the age of 13.

This orphanage had a tech program. Unknowing of Matt's abilities, they let him into that program. Matt was getting all As, and had as much time online as he liked. The program very quickly wasn't enough, however. One day a man named Watari came to the orphanage. At first, Matt thought he was in trouble. The man told him there was an orphanage that could offer him a real challenge and a better education. And Matt took the deal. He was sent to Wammy's house at the age of 15, where he was offered a real challenge, even with his abilities.
